WE MISS DONNIE HERE ON ONCOLOGY
Bro Caruso
April 22, 2009
Donnie will be dearly missed. I have just known Donnie for a short time but seems like I've known him forever, he makes you feel that way, what a great friend. His memories will always be in my heart. I will never forget when he came to the house for a crawfish boil (what a great day that was) and he had a big bump on his head and he explain how he got it, riding on the golf cart and someone hit a golf ball and it hit him in the head, BOINK, we laughed and laughed, and I made fun of it, needless to say payback was in Donnie favor as not long after that an incident happen to me, walking into the sliding glass door in Florida and bumping my head, knees, hell my whole body, woke up every body in the condo, well guess who was the first person to make fun of me, you got that right, DONNIE!!!
Time flies by way to fast, and I feel blessed that Donnie was part of my life, I just wish I've would have met him a long time ago.
Again, my sympathies go out to you and your family.

I HAD TO GO AWAY
I had to go away.
I'm sorry you couldn't come with me.
But on earth is where you shall stay.
Please do not be sad.
Instead laugh and be glad.
I'm in a beautiful place, such a beautiful place.
I know you wont see me for a while.
But you will hear from me.
I will be the wind that will chill you on a hot summer day.
I will be the sun that will warm you when it's cold.
Listen to the birds sing, I will be saying, "I love you" in their song.
I know you can't touch me.
But you will feel me.
Because I will be inside of you giving you life on the days you feel like you can't go on anymore.
Please I beg of you, go on, live your life as I lived mine.
Always remember we will be together again.
I will be patiently waiting for you on that day.
When you will join me in this beautiful place.
Until then may God bless you with his almighty grace.

Courtney, We are so sorry for you and your family's loss. You and Trey have become a big part in our lives, and we love you dearly. I wish that I could ease the pain. But as you already know your daddy is not suffering anymore. There will come a day when you will be able to talk about him with a smile and not with tears. His Legacy will live on through your wonderful memories. May God be with you and your family at this time and through the days ahead.
As always Wesley and I will always have our home and hearts open to you and Trey.
All our love!!

Robin:
Our prayer is that the God of all comfort will indeed comfort you and your family, friends and associates during this difficult time and in the days ahead. My associations with Donnie were limited but in those few encounters we saw and were inspired by his passion for life, his courage in trial, his dedication to family, friends and his work associates. I admire him and those with whom he worked and for their assistance and aid during these difficult days.
May Donnie rest in peace and may all of us, being enriched by his life, be resolved to do our best to uphold the values we share.

When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a defening silence, a unrelenting sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why Donnie left this earth so soon, or why Donnie left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we will begin to remember not just that Donnie died, but that he lived. And that Donnie's life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
