I had the pleasure of working with him in the OR at OLOL in the 1970s. He was such a gentleman and always the best to work with! I was a new graduate of OLOL nursing school and he was extremely patient and a great teacher/mentor for all of us new nurses. I actually have a small scar on my arm where he removed an odd looking thing I had there. I always think of him and smile when I notice my scar...he was the best!!! He always told us stories of his children and how Margie was a wonderful mom/nurse. We were all thrilled when she finally came to work with him in surgery. We all fought to circulate or scrub on their cases. They were a great team and heaven has to be a brighter place with them both there. I can hear the sound of his wonderful laugh in my head as I write this. The Armstrong family is in my prayers.

Paulsen was one of the nicest, most impressive men I've met since moving here. He had a kind and humble dignity about him that is earned from a life well lived. We were all blessed to know this fine man. I'm sorry for your loss.

At the end of February, 1971, in Baton Rouge, at 2 a.m., Dr. Armstrong performed surgery on our 1 month old son and saved his life!! We are forever grateful!! Both red heads. :)
