Dwight Phillip "Mello" Herson

Dwight "Mello" Phillip Herson was born to the late Malver Chassion Herson and James Dennis Herson on July 25, 1945, in Jennings, Louisiana. He was the third of three children. He departed this life on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at 11:40 p.m. Early in life he was baptized and reared at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. While living in Baton Rouge he continued to worship there until his illness prevented his attendance. Dwight attended St Francis Xavier, Southern Laboratory School, both in Baton Rouge, and Holy Rosery Catholic High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. He continued his education at Grambling State College in Grambling, Louisiana. Dwight Herson is survived by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Stewart Herson; three children, Dwight Jr. (Toney) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Milo Kristel of Dallas, Texas and Corey Hill of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Rhyan Conley, Christian Conley, and Katelin Polar; mother-in-law, Jo-Ella Stewart; aunts Magadelene Hardy (Junious) of Jennings, Louisiana and Romona Porche of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; uncle, Phillip Chassion of Jennings, Louisiana; niece, Kim Hunter Reed (Henry) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; great-niece, Bre Reed of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and numerous cousins and friends.
