Elizabeth Bonnecaze Obituary

Elizabeth R. Bonnecaze (Beth Rome), a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at the age of 80 after a battle with Alzheimer's. She was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was quick witted, loved to dance, cooked delicious meals and lived her Catholic faith. She was dedicated to her family and she will be deeply missed. She retired from EBR school system where she worked as a special needs bus attendant. Married for 60 years, she is survived by the love of her life, Henry Y. Bonnecaze, Sr.; sons: Henry Jr. (Dina), Remi (Liz), Mike (Lisa), Brad (Emily) Bonnecaze; daughter: Julie (Michael) White; grandchildren: Chelsea, Alex, Katie, Bryan, Allen, Matthew, Caroline, Lauren, and Evelyn Bonnecaze; Corinne and Brennan White; Candyce (Matthew) Mannen and Victoria (Seth) Dupre'; great-grandchildren: Anna-Katherine and Maddox Dupre' and Sara Elizabeth Mannen; sisters: Veda (Chuck) Smith, Denise (Ricky) Soileau; sisters-in-law: Margaret and Elena Rome; and brother-in- law: Mike Babin. Preceded in death by her parents: Roger Rome, Jr. and Dorothy Bourgeois Rome Kaiser; stepfather: Adrian Kaiser, Sr.; brothers: Roger III and Maurice Rome; sister: Juanda Babin; grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. MJ Bourgeois, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Rome, Sr. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, February 10 from 8:30 am-10 am, mass at 10 am. Burial to follow mass at Green Oaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area or charity of choice. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Bonnecaze family.

"Well done good and faithful servant", You have earned your reward in Heaven and have returned home to the Father. Our prayers are with Henry and the entire family, because you will be missed so very much. I pray that the family can eventually take comfort knowing that "Beth" is in Heaven, where we are all working to be someday. May the Blessing of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, be with you.
