Ernestine Marie "Tina" Mengarelli

1967 - 2023

Ernestine Marie Mengarelli, affectionately known as 'Tina', passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on February 23, 1967, in Opelousas, Louisiana, and was a native of Krotz Springs. Tina dedicated many years of her life to helping others as a nurse. In her later years, Tina loved creating beautiful crafts, cooking, and decorating her home. Tina's memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs, Louisiana, on Friday, September 8th, 2023. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday in the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, in the Lafond Ardoin funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Tina is survived by her loving fiancé, Michael Orona of Baton Rouge and his mother, Susan Lindig of Baton Rouge; two brothers: Steve Mengarelli and wife, Kimberly of Baton Rouge; and Terry Mengarelli of Sunset; and her nieces and nephews: Joshua Mengarelli and wife, Genee; Bria Majors and husband, Anthony; Gabriel Mengarelli; Samuel Mengarelli; Katie M. Trahan and husband, Jason; Shelbi Mengarelli; Sophia Mengarelli; and Zachary Mengarelli. She also leaves behind her most loyal companion, 'Lucy Pup'. Tina's vibrant spirit and nurturing presence will be dearly missed by her family. In addition to her immediate family, Tina leaves a host of cousins, dear friends, and loved ones who were touched by her warm personality, unwavering kindness, and genuine care. Tina was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a memorial dedication to be made in Tina's memory.
