Frank Cagnolatti Obituary

Frank Joseph Cagnolatti passed away on January 23, 2024 at the age of 80. He was a native of DeRidder, LA and a longtime resident of Gonzales, LA. He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Rossi Cagnolatti, and children, his son Chad Christopher Cagnolatti (wife Christi) and his daughter Edie Michele Cagnolatti and his grand-dog Pierre. He is also survived by his eight siblings, Bill (wife Gwen), Joe (wife Linnet), Johnny (wife Pam), Guy (wife Linda), Eva, Yvonne, Claire and David (wife Marilyn); his sisters-in-law, Ramona, Amy, Marybeth (husband Jeff) and brother-in-law Norris Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Clara Cagnolatti. Frank was larger than life and was an incredible husband, father, brother, uncle, mentor and friend to many. Frank selflessly served his community as an altar boy at St. Theresa, served on St. Theresa of Avila Parish Council for two years, ran as candidate for mayor for the City of Gonzales, was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for five years, served on the City of Gonzales Planning and Zoning Commission for fourteen years spending eight of those years as Chairman, and was proclaimed outstanding Citizen of the Year by the City of Gonzales in 2020. Frank completed a forty-four year career as a piping designer employed in the regional petrochemical industry. Frank was a master of many talents and passions. He was a riveting storyteller and could always tell a good joke. He enjoyed collecting rare wine and making his own wine with his brothers and nephews. He looked forward to regular poker games with his family, he enjoyed good food, cooking and appreciated sharing memorable meals with great company. He was an avid hobbyist and enthusiastically researched and collected Case pocket knives. He watched the generations of family before him hand-cane wooden furniture and he was honored to learn the craft himself and keep that tradition alive. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA 70737, the visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
