Gordon Robertson Jr. Obituary

Gordon Robertson Jr., a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 78. Gordon was born January 4, 1946, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Gordon Robertson, Sr. and Alla Mae Robertson. Gordon attended Louisiana State University where he received a bachelor's degree in business. Gordon then went on to work for the Louisiana Legislative Auditors, the Ascension Schoolboard, and the Zachary Schoolboard for many years. Gordon also served in the United States Army, touring in Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, where he ultimately received the rank of Major. When he wasn't abroad, Gordon assisted the families of the men that were deployed. He was married to Milissa E. Robertson for 47 years. Gordon enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, taking care of his dogs, maintaining his yard, cooking, and spoiling his wife. Gordon was also quite the jokester and very outgoing; he never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Milissa E. Robertson; daughter, Dawn Robertson of Baton Rouge; son, Jon Robertson (Sherry) of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Meghan Haywood; and great-grandchildren, Natalie Franklin and Jade Alvear. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Vincent De Paul of Baton Rouge or the Wounded Warrior Project. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Cardinal Hospice, Baton Rouge General Telemetry Unit, Old Jefferson Community Care Center, Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital, and The Baton Rouge Clinic. Visitation will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane in Baton Rouge, on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM. Milissa,
Carmen and I were very sorry to hear about Gordon's passing. We were in Florida and got an email from Isadore Brown informing the former members of the 321st MMC of Gordon's demise. Sorry we were not able to attend his service. Gordon was a good man and we are all better off having known him. If there is anything we can do to help you during this time period, please let us know.

I worked for Major Robertson while he was in the Army Reserves. I remember him to be kindhearted and dedicated to the unit.
