Harold McGehee Obituary

Harold Ray McGehee "Mac", age 85, who was a native of Smithdale, MS and a resident of Central, LA, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He is a member of Masonic Central Lodge 442, Easter Star Istrouma Lodge 162, and the Scottish Rite. He was a business owner of The Rubber House of Baton Rouge, Inc. for over 40 years.He is survived by his loving wife, Annette A. McGehee; son and daughter-in-law, James Douglas "JD" and Colleen McGehee; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Marilynne and Christopher Whisnant, Sr.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Nellie Mae Laird McGehee; daughter and son-in-law, Alice Karen and Rev. George Terrell; and sister and brother-in-law, Irene and "MC" Murray.The family requests visiting hours at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at www.resthavenbatonrouge. com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Terrell Memorial Endowed Scholarship, University of Arkansas Foundation, c/o Jim Harris, 1002 W Maple, Fayetteville, AR 72701. The family would like to thank his Hospice Nurse, Celeste, along with his caregivers, Elaine, Claudette, and Gladys for their loving care and support.
