Henrietta Michelli "Netta" Holden

Netta was born Nov. 5, 1922, and died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011. She was 89 and a resident of Slaughter. She lived in Memphis, Tenn., for 43 years. She was the co-owner of Combustion & Controls Inc., of Memphis, since 1951. She attended LSU, was a licensed commercial pilot, a good fisherman, a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and the president of Women Pilots 99 of Memphis, Tenn. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary, on Monday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jeffery Bayhi. Burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James Douglas; two sons, Henry Lee Holden and wife Jill, and James Cody Holden and wife Robin, all of Memphis; sister, Gloria Sherrer, of California; and seven grandchildren, Benn, Jay, Joshua, Jacob, Elise, Brynn, and Kara Holden. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Lee; infant son; parents, Tom and Mary Michelli; sisters, Ann Pocorello, Grace Lungaro and Rosine Bertaut; and brothers, Gasper, Joe and Andrew Michelli.
