Henry was such a good friend and Brother. He called me Sis. I still think about him often. I have been very Blessed to have known him as a friend and Brother. We became very close because we worked in the library and shared a mother, who was head of the cataloging department. I think about his family and regret that I don't know them nor see them.

As I share the grief that you are experiencing right now I want you to know that “Daddy Bellaire” (as I always called him) was a wonderful man and left a great impact on so many lives. As a student a Southern University I will never forget the acts of kindness he showed me from helping me get in school to giving me a job in his office. He was always the same and stood for right no matter the situation. The times that I and other Greek members shared with him while he was the Pan Hellenic Council advisor are unforgettable. Cherish the memories that will live on in each of you and in the lives of so many others. He Loved and was Loved, but God Loved Him Best. My continued prayers are with you.

I worked under Mr. Bellaire in the Admissions Office for years and enjoyed every minute.
We lost such a productive person in the community.

Mr.Bellaire was a great person. I remember his warm smile and his kind way that he had. Mr.Bellaire touched many lives. He will always be in our hearts. It has been such a great loss to lose Mr. Bellaire. He was always the same, wonderful person whenever I saw him. He always greeted me with a hug and smile no matter how many times I saw him. My heart has been so heavy because of this tremendous and totally senseless loss. The only saving grace I have is that God must have needed him in Heaven more than we needed him here on Earth. My family and I will continue praying for you all and always thank God that we had the chance to know such a beautiful person. You all are truly a great family.

Liz,
A short time has passed, but nothing can take the place of my cousin Henry. We seldom saw eachother because I work overseas, but from time to time I would call him and see how he and the rest of the family was doing. Words can't express my lost, but I know he is in heaven because of the type of person he was in life.
Ironically, our family has produced five Alpha Phi Alpha men to include Henry. Henry was the true light that Alpha men bring to the table as it relates to service to mankind.
I miss Henry and will always keep your and your family close to my heart and in prayers.

We are never prepared for the loss of a loved one....especially so sudden. God is always prepared to help us through our loss....May God’s presence begin the healing in your heart and soul. May His love surround you with the comfort only He can give. May the Lord be with you all.
It was a great pleasure working with Henry in the Office of Academic Affairs at Southern University. This is where our close friendship began.
It was also a blessing to serve with him as his secretary for Immaculate Conception's 50th Anniversary Celebration. I will treasure those memories.
I thank Henry for the spiritual guidance and the deep appreciation for our unique and special gift....our Catholic faith and the great love for our Blessed Mother Mary.
Donovan appreciates the fatherly advice he gave him often. He will make his Uncle Henry proud.
I know he is in heaven decorating something beautifully.(smile) May Henry rest in peace!

Dear God in Heaven above, February 28, 2007 is the day that you took someone we love, Mr. Bellaire. We know that we need not worry because you are there with him with open arms.
Dear God in Heaven above, the man that stands before you was deeply loved although it seems like it is the end, now the memories of him shall begin.
Dear God in Heaven above, we are here today with sorrow and grief but, when we look up toward Heaven there will be a sense of relief because the man before you is in a better place.
February 28th was not a day of death, but rebirth because he lived a wonderful life here on earth. So on this day we will look back no more because on this day we know he's with you, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Mr. Bellaire will truly be missed. For all that knew him we know that we were blessed.

My first association with "Mr. Bellaire" was as a teenager in the Upward Bound Program. Words cannot adequately express the positive influence that he had in my life the summer of '73, while I was one of his students. I remember that his kind words of encouragement empowered me to strive for things beyond my dreams. He made me feel like I was somebody and that I would really make a difference in my life.
I was very disappointed that I was unable to attend the public celebration of his life, as I was not able to free myself from my court duties. I will honor his life by doing for others as "Mr. Bellaire" would have. He was and will always be a tremendous role model in my life.

You are so blessed to have had such a loving, wonderful, caring, and generous husband and father as Henry.
He and I became acquainted when we were students at Southern University. He became my 'brother' and I, his 'sister'. We did not see each other often after graduation, but the warm friendship that developed, remained constant. I was very fortunate to have seen him a year ago.
We, who knew Henry, are so blessed to have the long lasting memories of a good honest man.

To Gina, Galyn, Mrs. Bellaire (Momma) and the entire Bellaire family
I send my deepest heart felt sympathy to you all in the lost of Mr. Bellaire (Dad). It saddens my heart greatly to know a man like Mr. Bellaire has left us all. I feel his life was stolen from him and it sickens me beyond understanding. However, I am conforted in knowing that God has received a tremendous soul and soldier, believing that there must have been some great job in heaven that only Mr. Bellaire (dad) could fill as he always did. Please be encourage and remain as close as you all have always been and know that I love you, as I always have.
I truly wish I had found out before today, so that I could have been there for you.
