James Anthony Cedotal

James Anthony "Jimmy" Cedotal, age 80, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Husband of 57 years to the late Glenda Fay Buras Cedotal of Gonzales. Son of the late Spaulding L. "Foots" Cedotal and Helen Johnson Cedotal. Father of Helen Cedotal Roy (Kenneth), Allison Cedotal Dickerson and the late Clint Cedotal (Heather). Grandfather of Kylie Roy, Denise Roy, Everly Dickerson, Nicholas Bickham (Hannah), Brant Cedotal and Ryan Cedotal. Also survived by great granddaughter Margo Mae Bickham; brothers: Jeffrey Cedotal (Cathy) and Gregory Cedotal (Sharon). Also, a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers Spaulding "Sparky" Cedotal, Michael David Cedotal (Mary Lou) and Jasen Paul Cedotal. He was a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, residing mostly in Gonzales. He was an avid MOPAR and NASCAR fan. If a race was on, he was watching, if he couldn't attend. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local 5. Over the years he worked as a truck driver, pipeline mechanic, warehouseman at the River Bend Nuclear Plant in St. Francisville and at BASF in Geismar. As much as his passion was cars and working on them, the last 25 years of his work life was his favorite, driving the stars on over 15 movies filmed in South Louisiana. Pall bearers will be Nicholas Bickham, Brant Cedotal, Ryan Cedotal, Paul Cedotal, Cody Cedotal and Steven Gutshall. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Gonzales, 1217 South Burnside Avenue, Gonzales, LA 70737. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 604 E. Hwy. 30, Gonzales, Louisiana, 70737 immediately following funeral services. All are welcomed to attend.
