Johnnie Lee Hooper Jr.

A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Mr. Johnnie Lee Hooper, Jr., age 69, at 11:00 am Thursday, October 23, 2014, at St. Mark Catholic Church with Rev. Rubin Reynolds officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a resident of Gonzales, Mr. Hooper passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Hooper was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was also an artist who enjoyed wood working and used those skills to make crosses for all the children having first communion at St. Mark's for the past ten years. He was an avid gardener and lifetime member of the 7th District Fire Department. He retired from Pipe Fitters Local 198 and the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. Mr. Hooper was also a Boy Scout Troop leader for 25 years who founded Troop 778. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Farlow Hooper; sons, Timothy Hooper and wife Robin LeBoeuf Hooper, Jeffery Hooper and wife Tanya Price Hooper; daughters, Rose Hooper Little and husband Jeffrey Little, Alice Hooper Heath and husband Bob Heath, Pamala Hooper Fletcher; grandchildren, Chase Hooper and wife Kristen Hooper, Aaron Hooper, Chase Kirby, Colby Little and fiancé Jaime Sherman, Catherine Little, Caroline Little, Maegon Hooper Ruiz and husband Justin Ruiz, Chelsea Heath, Cassie Heath, John Hooper, Brian Fletcher, Matthew Fletcher, Tristen Fletcher Cano, Kameron Hooper, Kennedy Hooper; great-grandchildren, Austin Strahan, Emma Grace Strahan, Beckham Ruiz and sisters, Barbara Hooper Schrock and Sandra Peters. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Hooper, Sr., mother, Vernie Mae Hooper and mother-in-law Catherine Farlow.
