A retired Superintendent at Entergy and resident of Central, Joseph Schittone passed away at his home Friday, November 3, 2023. He was 80, a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Airman First Class and Ham Radio Operator. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan. Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, 5pm to 8pm and Wednesday, Nov. 8, 10am to 11am. Burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Survived by his wife, Susan Schittone; daughter, Cindy Schittone; stepson; John Acklen; daughter Lorna Schittone and brother; Anthony "Jerry" Schittone Sr. Preceded in death by his father, Edgar Schittone; mother Bessie Schittone; brother Steve Schittone and sister Sarah Schittone. Pallbearers will be John Acklen, Anthony "Tony" Schittone Jr., Chris Bonaventure, Joseph "Joey" Bonaventure, Cade Blanchard and Ethan Blanchard.
