Kreglan Dewayne "K.G." Gaines Jr.

Kreglan Gaines Jr., a student and resident of Baton Rouge, was called home by the Lord at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 18 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting will be at Winnfield Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Stanley Plain, pastor. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery. He was reared by Felix Thomas, Janet Cox, James Pierre Sr., Shirley A. Veals and his honorary godparents, William and Shelia Collier, who were known as his "Momo and Papa." He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, La'Monica Thomas; father, Kreglan Gaines Sr.; nine sisters, Kourtney, Kellie, Kregan, Kenneisha and Keymine Thomas, Britterica Robins, Paula Linson, Takayla Joseph and Khadajia Gaines; a brother, Kortlan Thomas; a nephew, K. Lynn "Neph" Thomas; five aunts, Tena, Regina and Stacy Cox, LaKeisha Grimes and Meka Pierre; an uncle, James Pierre Jr.; and a host of cousins, great-uncles, great-aunts and friends, including two very special friends, Darniesha Coleman and Jahnice Grimes. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Henrietta Schofield; great-grandmother, Nora Thomas; paternal great-grandmother, Lubertha Gaines; great-grandfather, Sherwood Gaines Sr.; three cousins, Sean Darensbourg, Jerome Jones III and Brandon Gaines.
