Having phoned his office today, I was shocked and upset to learn of Dr. Chili's passing. He was such a kind, caring person and physician, and I will truly miss him. My heart goes out to his family. I will remember you all in my prayers.

Dr. Krsihna Yalamanchili was a very intelligent and caring man. He is a big part of my life and always will be even though he is not with us anymore. He was my psychiatrist for 4 years and has truly helped me get through a really tough time in my life. I will never forget him, he will always hold a very special place in my life. To the Family of Dr. Krishna Yalamanchili ... We just learned today of Dr. Chili's passing. We were deeply saddened and shocked and, of course, so sad that we missed being able to pay our respects to him. We are both social workers who worked with Dr. Chili years ago at OLOL and learned so much from him. He was an exceptional psychiatrist who gave so much to others through his warmth and genuine kindness. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Dr. Chili's passing is a loss to so many.

I was a patient of your beloved family member Dr. Chili. He deserves more thank yous than I can say..he saved my life. I was referred to him when a college left the lake because of his advanced knowledge of pharmecology. One of the last acts of your dear life brought me out of a deep depression. I can only pray for a doctor who can keep me where I am because of his treatment. Be comfroted during this difficult times.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Chili was a ray of sunshine in my life each and everyday. He had that beautiful smile on his face that made you feel good just seeing him. Everytime he stopped in my office all of the chaos seemed to disappear and he brought a sense of peace and calm that was contagious. I will never forget him, his memory will live on forever. I was so sad to about the passing of Dr. Chili. While I only had the pleasure of working with him on occasion, he was always so pleasant in the face of some of the most difficult situations. He helped train my brother Kevin while he was in ER training at the Earl. He still fondly relates humorous stories of his time with Dr. Chili. I helped care for him during a brief illness many years ago, and despite being sick he was always postive and upbeat. I know he will be sorely missed by his patients, friends and colleagues. Just a wonderful example of what we should all strive to achieve in life-industry, peace and happiness.

I worked at the Lake with Dr. Chili for many years until I retired recently. He was always a bright light when he came to the unit, smiling,interested in the staff and their concerns, helpful with our questions,compassionate to his patients, ever so patient with us. He was a caring physician, a wonderful human being. We have all been blessed by having him pass through our lives. I am so grateful.

Our sympathies to the family. I learned of his death today. I worked with Dr. Chili many years ago at the Margaret Dumas Center and he was one of the reasons I changed to psychiatry. Until his untimely death he treated those dear to me and even with his busy schedule he always offered me encouragement and a smile. He will be missed.

"To the family, coworkers, friends & other patients like myself...the death of Dr.Chili is a reminder of how God used him to place blessings in my life. Through Dr. Chili's skills (both counseling and ECT) I was introduced to LIFE--a life without being suicidal! In my 12 year "career" with mental illness, he is the only dr that encouraged me the entire way to stability without using Rx's that would numb me to life.

My very dear friends, I just now learned of our great loss! We have known your family since the days at East La. State Hosp. George and I have been at many meetings with Dr. Chili, we have enjoyed your hospitality at your home and we grieved with you at the loss of your son. When George was very depressed he sought help from his fellow psychiatrist, Dr. Chili. And when George's sister was ill Dr. Chili was there too. My condolences to the family. I worked with Dr. Chili at Parkland Hospital and then later at the Baton Rouge General. He was always cheerful and always smiling. He was so kind to me, especially when I was a new nurse and trying to learn what to do. Lately I would see him working out at Southdowns Spectrum and he would always stop to chat. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Dr. Chili will be missed.

To the Family of Dr. Chilli,
Dr. Chilli was my mom's doctor for seven years now. He helped her so much. He always took time with her and was so patient and compassionate while she would talk to him. We moved to Texas for 3 years. We always drove back to BR for her appointments. My mom only wanted to see Dr. Chilli. I sent a letter to OLOL saying what a kind, compassionate, caring doctor he was. I stated in the letter we would drive 300 miles just so she could see Dr. Chilli. The next time she saw him, I asked him did he get the letter I sent about him. He said, yes I did. I said, "did they give you a raise?" He smiled and said I could have all the money in the world, money comes and goes, but the letter will be with me forever. I never forgot that.
It would take me a long time to tell you of all the special things he did for my mother and how he would go out of his way even as busy as he was to always take the time and talk to me about my mother.
You all were very blessed to have him in your life.
You and your family are in our prayers.

Dear Rani,
We have been greatly saddened by the loss of a dear friend and a great colleague. Krishna was always there for us through the years of my practice and consultation with my patients, As my practice drifted to outpatient, he was a source of my patient's comfort at the hospital. Worked with him in the close proximity at Parkland and then at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, he was an inspiration to all of us.
He will be missed dearly.

As one of Dr. Chili's sales reps for a total of 10+ years, I can say with sincerity that he was one of my favorite doctors to visit. He will be missed so much, and my weekly routine trips to India's Restaurant won't feel the same. May you find strength and peace in this time of grievance.

It was an honor to work with someone who truly had an appreciation for the goodness in people, a zest for living and such a wonderful sense of humor. He was good, gracious and kind. He will be missed greatly in this community. Everyone I know loved him. My son helped him with his workouts at the gym at one time and he was thrilled when Chris became a pilot. How fortunate we were to have known him.

Jack and I have know Dr. Chili for more than 22 years now. He cared for Jack's mom until her death in 1988. When we lost our beautiful daughter to an unexpected sudden death, Dr. Chili was so helpful in getting us through that horrible time. We were his patients, but considered him a dear friend.
