Oh, I could say so many things about Dr. Ferachi! He was so handsome & he always had a smile on his face when he came in the exam room! Of course, he was an excellent physician & surgeon. There came a time I found out I was going to have a hysterectomy! Well I had to go see Dr. Ferachi for an injection, the week before, & I said Doc, you know I have to have a hysterectomy next week, youve been my only surgeries , I trust Dr. Berry, but can you come in there with me?? He, Marie, & I laughed & laughed about that! I loved Dr. Larry Ferachi with all my & he is still touching lives of young surgeons they have told me! God Bless you ALL! Geaux Tigers

Dr. Ferachi was the doctor on call when I was air-med to OLOL after being injured by a falling tree. He operated on me that night, three months later and again three years later from the injuries. Admired him so much and miss that he is not here to continue to treat me. Wonderful and Humane Doctor.

I wanted to wright some words, words so alert they would leap from the paper, crawl up your shoulder and be there to comfort you down through the years. By the time I had cried for three days, the only thing I could say is that the world had lost a great DR., FATHER, HUSBAND, MAN, AND FRIEND. Just that when I frist started seeing DR. Larry I knew then he was a great man, then over the years he became a friend. My family and I will miss him very much, so will the world.
Dr. Larry has done 7 surgeries on me, 3 on my mother, and 4 on my son. Two other Dr.s had said that my son would never walk after his accident Dr. Larry has my son walking today. I have never met a Dr. that so caring, kind, and loving. He would call me at night to see how my son was. He would ask me if there was anything he could do. I have never had another Dr. to care so much. My family will truely miss him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. We will always remember him as a great person that he was.
My family and I now see Dr. David Ferachi and he too is a kind and caring person.

In 1994, Dr. Ferachi was on call at the Lake when I was flown in by helicopter as a result of an accident from a falling tree. That night I was in surgery for several hours and hospitalized for two weeks thereafter. Dr. Ferachi was the surgeon who attended to my injuries which were numerous and for the next three years he attended to my physical needs until I was well. During all my operations, he was so caring and this made the sufferings I went through more bearable to endure. He remained my orthopedic surgeon until he retired from practice when he became ill. I shall always remember him as the special person he was. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

one of greatest friends and family a person could have !

October 22, 2012

To the Ferachi family,
It's hard to express into words the gratitude & friendship I've felt for Larry for more than 30 years. Vince & Jennie Ferachi were my Godparents. My father, Johnny DeMarco was one of Larry 's 1st
patients in Hammond. I can't even remember how many surgeries he preformed on him. Larry became part of our family. He'd pick up my dad & ride around looking at property. He's come into the house & raise lids on my mother's pots & stayed for homemade Italjan cooking many times, or she'd bring food to the office. He'd bring the boys by to visit. Above & beyond, he was a wonderful surgeon & compassionate doctor. My mother, Catherine DeMarco, is 91 in a nursing home & was so saddened when she heard the news. I took her to see him about 4 yrs ago & it was just like old times.
May each of you find comfort in your loss. God Bless.

Mrs. Beulah and the Ferachi family,

Karen and I extend our deepest sympathy to all of you. Our memories of Larry and the Ferachis go back many decades, What a fun guy Larry was to grow up with! I can remember all those scouting trips, bike riding trips and oh the sports! Those Ferachi boys were some of the best athletes Plaquemine had ever known! Above all that though, are the memories of such a kind and thoughtful friend he was. Yes, we lost a good man much too soon, but he gave us all such a good example of how we should try to live life. Thank you, Larry, and I am so proud to have been your friend!

October 22, 2012

To the Ferachi Family,
Dr. Ferachi was a wonderful doctor and more than that a wonderful person. He has been my doctor well over 25 years. A friend of mine called tonight with the sad news and I just begain to cry. I really loved him. He was really the best! He used to tell me I was so hard headed, of course he was right! I told him one time I had to have a hysterectomy could he do that? He was the only person I trusted to operate on me. He said sorry a little out of my area, and laughed and told me I would be fine. I loved his smile and he was truly a caring doctor and I will miss him greatly. I was very honored to have him in my life. I am praying for you all in the days ahead. God Bless you all. He was truly special!

To Larry's wife & children: the only help to me when I lost someone so precious was when someone shared what they remembered about my loved one. I have to say as an upper classman at Plaquemine High, Larry brought me & the entire crowd extreme pleasure & joy as we watched him come down court with that basketball. It was always with such ease and talent! Thanks for those memories, Larry. God be with your family.

I can remember the Ferachi brothers and their high school sports exploits. Home town hero's for sure. Decades past and you sometimes are reminded by their pictures and such. I had surgery a few years back and noticed Larry's hanging on the wall at my surgeons office. I asked what disipline larry specialized in. After he told me he explained that he was ill. He further told me that Larry and other surgeon's had gone to Haiti to help with the eartquake victims. That was enough information, that told me that after all these years, what Larry was all about. Please accept our heart felt sympathies to the Ferachi family and please know that Larry is caring for all his family in a special way. God bless.
