Leila Jo Young "Lee" Bercegeay

Leila Jo Young Bercegeay, "Lee", a resident of Olive Branch, died peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, just shy of her 90th birthday. Lee was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a 1952 graduate of Clinton High School where she was the class valedictorian. She later graduated magna cum laude from McNeese College where she got her BA in history and English in 1968. Lee saw the world working as a travel agent for many years. She had a great love for animals. Her spirit will live in our hearts always. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 1:00 pm until funeral services at 3:00 pm. She is survived by daughter, Elena Coffman and husband Dale Coffman; stepdaughter Shantel Braud and husband Dwight "Doddy" Braud; one son, Douglas LaFargue and wife Rachel; two sisters: Virginia Robertson and husband Louis; Nancy Greig and husband Danny; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lucille Young; stepson Jeffrey Bercegeay; sister Cynthia Venable; and husband Norman Joseph Bercegeay. Pallbearers will be Grant Coffman, Dakota Bercegeay, Jackson LaFargue, Brandon Vincent, Matt Greig and Steve McDaniel.
