Marie Lobell Bateman

1946 - 2024

Marie Lobell Bateman entered the arms of Jesus on October 26, 2024. She was born on July 27, 1946, in French Settlement and spent half of her life in Pierre Part where she worked alongside her husband Jerry in their family business, Bateman's Ice. Many knew her as "The Ice Lady" She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was lovingly called "Mawmaw ReRe" by her grandchildren and she enjoyed supporting them and attending all of their activities. She taught them how to drive and cook. She taught them how to love, pray, and keep faith in Jesus. Her hugs were comfort. Her kisses were sweet. She was our angel on Earth. Survived by her husband, Jerry "Bo" "Iceman" Bateman, son Brent (Holly) Bateman, daughter Christie Bateman, 10 grandchildren, Desiree, Casey (Leah), Jesse, Abagail, Gabrial, Joshua, Grace, Shelby Jr., Faith, and Jacob, 4 great-grandchildren, Jace, Jade, Leo, and Kai, brothers Warren "Tot" (Stacy) Lobell and Gordon "Cat" (Jeanelle) Lobell. Preceded in death by her parents, Louis "June" & Cleo Lobell; brother, Dennis Lobell. The family would like to thank Dr. Kimbrough, Dr. Hannegan, RN Laura and St. Elizabeth ER/ICU staff for their warmth and compassion. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement. Public visitation 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by service in the sanctuary and entombment in the church mausoleum at 11 a.m. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15710 La.
