Marjorie Lillian Durand

Marjorie Lillian Durand, born October 28, 1926, passed away on February 20, 2015 at Chateau De Notre Dame. She was the daughter of the late John Charles Durand and Lillian Amalia Harding Durand; sister of the late Alvin Charles Durand, the late Eldon John Durand and his late wife Shirley Aiple Durand; aunt of the late Marcia Durand Caparotta, Cheryl Durand Dupont and husband Robert, Robert John Durand and wife Joan, Joseph Caparotta and wife Jane. She is survived by six great nephews and one great niece, four great-great nephews and two great-great nieces. Also survived by loyal lifelong friend Joseph Foret, a host of devoted friends and neighbors and cousin Jane Randolph and husband Don. She was a social worker who received her M.S.W. from Tulane University and was a long time employee of New Orleans Family Services. She loved traveling, the outdoors, the Saints and socializing with her many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Holy Name of Mary Church, 400 Verret Street, Algiers, LA from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2015.
