Meredith Jones Obituary

Meredith L. Jones, 74 of Baton Rouge departed this worldly life on September 6th, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Willie and Wilma F. Lee, Sr, on May 2, 1947, in Baton Rouge, LA. Meredith graduated from Capitol High School and received her Licensed Practical Nursing certification from the Baton Rouge General School of Nursing. She worked with the Baton Rouge General for over 38 years until she retired in 2007. She was immovable in her faith and was a devout member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where she served with the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxillary Court 351, The Legion of Mary, and The Ladies Sodality. Meredith is survived by her husband, Isiah Jones, 2 daughters: Carla M. Jones-Johnson and Stacy D. Jones-Pedescleaux (Damian), 3 grandchildren: Aaliyah Johnson, Devin Pedescleaux, and Grace Pedescleaux, 1st cousin: Lenora Kador, and nieces: Angela Lee Domingue(Errol) and Monica Lee Foley(Dion). She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Wilma F. Lee, Sr., brother Willie Lee, Jr., and grandson Jabril K. Johnson. The viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 14th at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (3912 Gus Young Ave) from 9-11am with the Rosary at 10am, and service at 11 am. Service will be presided by Fr. Richard Andrus and internment will be at Louisiana National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Davis and Son Funeral Services, LLC.

Tell Isaiah and family I'm so sorry for their loss. I worked with Meredith at the Baton Rouge General on the 1st floor and the 5th and she orientated me into the unit. I just wanted to say that I had nothing but wonderful memories with Meredith.
