Michael Sause Obituary

Michael Hyland Sause, a cherished resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on September 3, 2024, surrounded by his family. Mike was born on June 4, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio, to William and Catherine Sause. Mike graduated from Ohio State University in 1971 and was affiliated with Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He went through the ROTC program and was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. Mike dedicated many years to the insurance business before founding Annuity Marketing Services in 1991. Mike was a beloved husband to Maureen for 53 years, a devoted father to his children Casey Sause Maranto (husband Michael Maranto), Nicole Sause Fawley (husband Daniel Fawley), and Michael Jon Sause, and a caring brother to William "Bill" Sause. He took great joy in spending time with his four grandchildren: Nicholas Fawley, Kate Fawley, Sam Maranto and Mac Maranto, creating lasting memories with each one of them. An active member of the Baton Rouge Country Club for 50 years, Mike had a passion for golf and cherished the moments spent with his many friends on the course. Throughout his life, Mike was known for his generosity and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. Mike's warm personality and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by a legacy of generosity and kindness that will continue to inspire others. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Sause, and his brother, Christopher "Kit" Sause. The family will hold a private ceremony to honor Mike's life, with a Celebration of Life to be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tunnel to Towers or Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge in memory of Mike are appreciated.

I worked with Mike at the MV Group, without him I am not sure MV could have gotten so large. He was always willing to help or offer advice. He loved his family, and let everyone know. He will be missed by many.
