Raymond Cockerham Obituary

Raymond Joseph Cockerham, aged 78, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on March 28, 2024, in Houston, Texas where he had resided the last 10 years. He was born on August 16, 1945. Raymond was a kind man with a gentle soul, known for his total disregard of a person's social status or ethnicity, which resulted in many wonderful friendships over his lifetime. He had a passion for the outdoors, particularly enjoying activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping. Raymond is survived by his wife and soul mate, Dana Cockerham; sons, Raymond Jr. (Raymie) and Keith Yost; mother, Dorothy Cockerham; sister, Brenda Felps (Irwin); father in-law and mother in-law, Byron and Tommie McCarver; brother in-law Michael McCarver-Reyes (Al); stepchildren, Callie Cline-Becnel (Hunter), Trey Cline (Mary Ann); step-grandchildren, Cline and Eva Becnel; Anna, Cole, Kennedy, and Briggs Cline. And a very special step-grandson, Dominic Cline, who provided care for his "Paw-Paw" and support for his "No-No" in Raymond's final months. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Cockerham. A private family service will be held upon Dana's death, with interment for both at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the SPCA or a charity of your choice in memory of Raymond Joseph Cockerham.

Mrs Dana, So sorry to hear of your loss. We enjoyed Mr. Raymond coming over when he had the camp in 4 mile. Dad always enjoyed his company and I did to. We have all lost touch once the move but we will always talk about the good times. He will be sadly missed. 985-714-5200
