Rene Watson Obituary

Rene Watson abandoned his earthly body on April 3, 2017. He was 54 years old. Originally from Luling, Rene grew up in Prairieville, LA. He graduated from East Ascension Academy in 1981. Rene graduated from SLU in 1987 with a major in history and a minor in Spanish. He spent most of his career in the car business. Rene leaves behind three children whom he loved dearly. He taught them the importance of hard work, loyalty, and integrity. Rene never met a stranger. He always knew the right thing to say. He was smart and funny, and people loved to be around him. He is survived by the mother of his children, Amy Wise Watson; his daughter Molly Wise and two sons, Spencer James and Matthew Edward; his brothers Mike and wife Kay, and James and wife Leslie; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Mary Watson, and his sister, Linda. Visitation will be at Little Praire Baptist Church on Saturday, April 8, from 9:30 to 10:30, followed by a memorial service. A meal will follow in the church hall. He was so loved! It is a comfort to know that we will see him again. Hebrews 11:1

Rene Watson was a very good man! He loved his family with all his heart and soul. The world is better for his having been here for 54 years. He is looking over his family and friends from heaven. Grief would be allowed by Rene briefly and then he would want you to laugh together and celebrate his life. He could always make me laugh!

I extend my deepest sympathy. Rene was a very special man. Always enjoyed our time together when we lived in Louisiana. He always had wonderful stories and a smile on his face. He will be missed.

To Rene's family, I was so surprised of Rene's passing. I've known him, for a long time, since grade school at EAA. In high school I went on to St Amant High but he always considered you a classmate no matter what. He always had a kind word and a smile on his face when you saw him and always a hug for you. GOD has a good man with him now, and you all have a guardian angel now and he will be watching over you all his family and friends. We will all miss you Rene!!

Love, Tracy Moran-Benzine

It's hard to believe that you are gone. I am going to really miss our late night talks. The world lost a good man when we lost you. You were such a good friend to me and you always knew how to brighten my day. I pray for peace and comfort for your children and family. I am looking forward to the day that we see each other again. We will both be pain free and made new and praising our Lord. Till then, my friend....

Dear Watson Family,

I was deeply honored when Rene' called me last week to tell me goodbye. Since then I have gotten to reflect on the many happy times he and I had back in college. Such a giving person who often took care of everyone else.

Just know that he was one of the coolest guys I know. Patient and warm hearted. His patience often gave him the talent to deliver the BEST prank or punchline.

He will forever be in my heart.

With love,

God's Blessings and Peace to the Family,
