Richard Conrad Jr. Obituary

Richard Tracy Conrad, Jr., 75, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, surrounded by his immediate family. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he lived most of his life. After graduating from Broadmoor High School, he joined the US Air Force. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. For years he coached his oldest son's football teams and officiated at his youngest son's swimming competitions. Richard never met a stranger, and his generosity of both spirit and self knew no bounds. Richard is survived by his two sons and their spouses: Richard Conrad III and Tammy Davis Conrad of Jackson, MS; and Brandon Conrad and Javier Alvarado of Washington, DC. He was also known as "Pa-Pa" by his grandchildren, Grant and Georgia Conrad. Along with his immediate family and friends, Richard will be missed by his sister, Deborah Schott and her husband Henry Schott; in addition to brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rhebe Westbrook Conrad, who passed in February 2022; his father, Richard Conrad, Sr; his mother Georgia Lefeaux Conrad; his brother William Brett Conrad, Sr; and his nephew, Justin Westbrook. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge, on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6-8pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10am at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive in Baton Rouge followed by the funeral mass at 11am celebrated by Fr. Paul Yi and co-celebrated by Fr. Miles Walsh, Richard's first cousin. Entombment will follow in the St. George Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Brett Conrad, Jr., Logan LeBlanc, Austin Westbrook, Garrett Westbrook, Ryan Gisclair, and Mark Braud.

Debbie, so sorry to see this terrible news. The last time I saw Richard we talked of the old days and how much he wished that he still had his Mustang. It was fun to ride in that car as we did many times.
He was a joyful person, loved life, and was always grinning.
It is an honor to say I knew him. RIP my friend.
