Robert Geier Obituary

Robert Joseph Geier Jr., "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me-the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT. Born in Houston, TX September 1, 1981, he died peacefully surrounded by family and friends April 26, 2023 in Lake Charles, LA. He was a graduate of Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee and LSU College of Chemical Engineering. He worked for NALCO Chemical for 16 years, taught Sunday School, and served as a trustee at Trinity Baptist Church. He was an unapologetic warrior for the Lord, avid outdoorsman, devoted friend, and always put his family first. He never met a stranger, missed an opportunity to help someone in need, or share God's love for us. To know him was to love him. He is survived by his wife of 18 years and love of his life, Callie Hollier Geier; son, Robert Joseph Geier III; daughter, Mackenzie Erin Geier of Lake Charles; parents, Dr. Robby and Carrie Ohlmeyer Geier of New Roads; sister, Eliza Geier Basehoar and husband, Andrew of Appleton, WI; brother, Edward Geier and wife, Nicole of Baton Rouge; In-Laws, Gary and Carolyn Hollier of New Roads; sister-in-law, Heather Ryder and husband, Ryan of New Roads; brother-in-law, Jason Coursey and wife, Danielle of Jarreau; sister-in-law, Hayley Hollier of Bluffton, South Carolina; nieces and nephews Caroline, Eloise, and Gretchen Basehoar; Aubrey and Clayton Geier; Tyler and Grant Coursey; Noah and Grace Ryder; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who were always there for him. We would like to thank Dr. Kamiya and his team at MDA for six wonderful years after initial glioblastoma diagnosis. Robert would want you to know that on this day he is more alive than ever before! He has just changed his address. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29th, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm. Burial will be on Sunday, April 30th, in Plaquemine, LA at 3:00 pm.
