Dear Bill & all the Watkins family,
Martin a I are so sorry for your loss. I served with Shirley on the Right to Life Board. She gave much of her time as a pro-life speaker to the youth of the area and was a true warrior for the unborn. It was wonderful knowing such a caring lady, and I know she is at peace now with the Lord.

My goodness; she was a very sweet lady; I worked at Watkins, Walker & Eroche for 7 1/2 yrs; she would come in w/a smile and always friendly. Always happy and upbeat, with some kind words. She was a whipper snapper; a kind and gentle soul. May God bless her and her loved ones as she is rejoicing before the Angels in heaven.

Dear Rose and Bubba,
I was so shocked to hear about Mrs. Shirley's passing. For the brief time that I knew her, I found her to be charming, friendly,so full of life and simply cute as a button. I feel blessed to have known her and spent time with her as I worked in her flower beds even if for a short while. God Bless you all as you will be in my thoughts and prayers in the months to come...........Anne Hitt

Sorry to hear of the lost of Mrs. Watkins. The Bible tells us “Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.” One of the principal ways to draw close to God is thorough prayer. Do not underestimate its value!

Dear Watkins Family,
What a woman! What a life! What a special gift she was to so many! She was a true unsung hero who championed progress and change, yet shunned recognition for that which she influenced. Shirley was the very first parishioner that I met at St. Francis Cathedral. Wow, did I get spoiled by that! Your Mother/Grandmother/GreatGrandmother was not just a pillar of her Church, she was more importantly a pillar of family faith... A Gentle Giant. I am a better person and Christian today because of her. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And May perpetual Light shine upon her.
Peace to all of you!

The world is a bit dimmer today. The community has lost a benevolent volunteer, our old family neighborhood has lost a cornerstone, and the Watkins family has lost its loving matriarch. Prayers for you all that you are comforted by many sweet memories. Prayers and love from the Carl McNabb family ("The Crescent Crew")
