Stella Batiste Jenkins

Stella Batiste Jenkins, a native of Gramercy and a resident of Lutcher. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson on Friday, October 22, 2021. She was 88 years young. A Walk-Thru Public Visitation will be held at Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church, 127 S. Mulberry St., Gramercy, on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m., followed by Religious Services at 11:00 a.m., conducted by The Rev. Ullysses Jarrow. Entombment in St. John Memorial Gardens in LaPlace. Masks and Social Distancing Must be Practiced At All Times. Survived by daughters, Gloria (Elliott) Knight, Regina (Carlos) Bickham, Sharon Jenkins, Antoinette Jenkins, Marlise (Jimmy) Green and Trenesse (Troy , Sr.) Johnson. Sons, Osborne (Kathy) Kelson, Ernest Jenkins and James (Rosemary) Jenkins. Sister, Mary Ann Anderson. Brother, Arizona (Ernestine) Batiste. 28 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, John Batiste, Sr. and Octavia Butler Batiste. Her husband, Arthur Jenkins, Sr. Her companion, Leroy Davis.
