Vanue Bartholomew Lacour Jr.

Vanue B. Lacour Jr., 82, died on September 10, 2024 in Pearland, Texas. Van grew up in Baton Rouge, graduated from Southern University Laboratory School and Southern University, and recently resided in Natchez as a proud member of the Cane River community. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 2262 Highway 484, Natchez, Louisiana, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Survivors include his sons Robert (Audrey) and Brian, stepdaughters Lisa Hannah and Vanessa Fenton (Adriel), grandchildren Bria, David, Brandan, Devyn, and Braidan, brothers Bernard, Michael (Carole), and Anthony (Edwina), sister Elaine Brown, and sister-in-law Juliet Lacour, as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vanue B. Lacour, Sr., and Arthemise Wilson Lacour, brother Leonard, sister Cynthia Nathaniel, brother-in-law Toyo Brown, and sister-in-law Barbara Hundley-Lacour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made through the Southern Foundation of Southern University, the St. Augustine Historical Society, or the American Cancer Society.
