William Brumfield Obituary

William "Bill" J. Brumfield passed away on July 15th at his home in Grosse Tete at the age of 80. He was born on July 3, 1943. Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jackie LeJeune Brumfield; daughters, Denise Brumfield (Jimmy), Amy Gosnell (Scott), and Donna Anders (David); sons, William "Billy" J. Brumfield, Jr. (Norma), and Timmy Davis (Christina); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Craig Brumfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lotus Franz Brumfield; father, Joseph Brumfield; and brother, Jody Brumfield. Bill was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a butcher by trade and started his career in New Orleans. Bill later on worked as a market manager at Cardinal's Supermarket in Plaquemine until his retirement. He was a consummate outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. Bill was a master gardener who could make anything he planted flourish. His backyard was always abloom and was a haven for birds and butterflies. Bill did not want a funeral service, so his family will meet privately in remembrance.
