William Charles Hertzell Sr.

1947 - 2021

William 'Bill' Charles Hertzell Sr. passed away on July 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 27, 1947 in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Charles Hertzell and Mary Lois Waddell. He has now rejoined his late wife, Karen Johnson Hertzell, in their eternal resting place. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Sutton and husband Dane and his son William "Billy" Hertzell, JR. and his wife Larrice, his grandchildren Ali McCormick, Wyatt Hertzell, Whitney Hertzell, Cheyanne Sutton, Kyla Sutton and Ethan Sutton. He is also preceded in death by his brother James Hertzell. He will be truly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He would go on to retire as an operator from BASF. Bill loved the outdoors especially while he was hunting and fishing. He was such a loving family man, and when those grandkids came along he could have been a prouder Paw Paw. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Kenneth Simon, Keith Simon, Stephen Johnson, Michael Crawford, Edward "JoJo" Gaudin, Ryan Aldridge, along with honorary pallbearers Wayne Simon and Wyatt Hertzell. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Yuvraj Heir and St. Joseph Hospice for all of the care and compassion they have given the family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 9am till 11am.
