Jerome A. Denier Jr., 76, of Clarksville, died on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at his residence. His wife, Carol Davis Denier, survives.
Mr. Denier was born on Oct. 11, 1937 in Cincinnati, a son of the late Jerome A. Denier Sr. and Genevieve Dugan Denier. He was a graduate of Xavier High School in Cincinnati. He received his bachelors of science and physics from Xavier University. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Denier had owned and operated Denier Brothers Hardwood Lumber in Cincinnati. He retired in 2013 from Consolidated Ceramics in Blanchester.
He was a member of the St. Columbkille Catholic Church. He had been involved with the Lions Club, the Clinton-Massie Boosters, and the I.E.E.E.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Denier is survived by two sons, Jerome A. Denier III of Waynesville, and Charles Patrick Denier of Clarksville; a brother, John T. (Patricia) Denier of Beaufort, S.C.; a sister, Genevieve (John) Leeseman of Morrow; and seven grandchildren, Anthony, Sam, Danny, Nick, Chase, Connor and Caelan.
In addition to his parents, a daughter, Debra Marie Denier, and a brother, Daniel Denier, are preceded in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St. in Wilmington, with the Rev. Michael J. Holloran officiating. The burial will be in the Clarksville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St. in Wilmington.
