Elizabeth Girod Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Girod, age 67, a long-time resident of Hugo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Elizabeth was born on August 24, 1958, in Dinuba, CA, to parents Charline and Basil Weathers. Throughout her life, Elizabeth's hands were rarely still as she expressed her creativity and generosity through her quilts, offering warmth and comfort to friends and family. Her deep love for animals was equally evident, as she could often be found tending to and caring for all creatures with a tender and compassionate spirit. Elizabeth's dedication to serving others was seen not only in her crafts and care for nature but also in her unwavering faith. Known as a mighty prayer warrior, she spent her life serving others with a humble and selfless heart. She stood steadfast in her beliefs, offering support and strength to those in need through her powerful prayers and ever-listening ear. This will continue to inspire and provide solace to all who were touched by her grace. Her passion for life extended to the outdoors, where she found peace and purpose in the care of her garden and landscaping. Each plant and flower that flourished under her watchful eye was a reflection of her understanding that beauty and love can grow from the simplest of acts. Leaving behind a legacy of love and goodness, Elizabeth is survived by the son of her heart, Albert McClain and his wife, Misty, of Hugo. Her memory will also be cherished by her siblings, Ray Weathers and his wife Stephanie of Oklahoma, Ricky Weathers and his wife Roxanne of Missouri, and sister Tammie Miller and her husband Tom of Missouri. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Girod. She also reunites with her parents, Charline and Basil Weathers, as well as her siblings, Wayne Weathers, Gerald Weathers, and Rebecca Boggs, in a place of peace and everlasting love. Services were entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service and Cremations of Antlers, Oklahoma.
