RW Clark of Antlers, passed from this life Monday, January 30th, 2017, at the age of 82. RW was born June 29th, 1934 in Little Cedar to Alfred and Icy Oma (Cypert) Clark. He married Marian Franklin on January 29, 1955. They lived happily together for 62 years. RW was an oil field electrician, small business owner and a highway inspector for ODOT among many jobs he held throughout his life. RW left Antlers from high school and met his wife at his first job where he told his boss after the first time he saw her that he had met the woman he was going to marry. RW owned Clark's Grocery in Antlers for many years where his customers and employees were like his family. He loved fishing and hunting and especially enjoyed taking those around him on these trips. He loved his brothers and his brothers were all active members of Ducks Unlimited and the Pushmataha Sportsmen's Club. He loved watching his children play sports and teaching them to country & western dance. He was a member of the Antlers High School Booster Club serving as president one of those years. RW also loved his hometown and served as an Antlers City Council member, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Jaycees, and a voluntary firefighter. RW was a member of the Antlers Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed wearing his Masonic cap and was honored when other Masons shook his hand and told him they were also Masons. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife Marian of the home, children; Bobby and Melanie Burgess, Ronnie Clark, and Jack and Pam Matthews, all of Antlers. Grandchildren: Johnny and Jessica May, Aaron and Mellissa Sherrer of Durant, Sarah Clark of Idabel, and Toby and Kristen Williams of Hugo. Great grandchildren: Davin Parsons, Jace May, Emma Sherrer, Chandler Clark, Brinley Williams, and Marlee Sherrer. He also leaves behind his special sister-in-laws Joy Clark and Theda Richardson and nephew Johnny Hood and a host of friends and relatives. RW was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters whom he deeply loved: Cecil, Jim, and Hermon Clark, Dorothy McClurken, Jewel Hood, Juanita Gooch, Natlee Clark and Sarah Livingston. Honorary pallbearers were: Mike Baggett, Doyle Baldwin, Howard Boyett, John Cocke, Bob Finley, Raymond Lough, Terry Pate, David Smith, Brandon Wall, Mike Winningham, and all his friends now and who went before him. Pallbearers were Jason Baggett, Junior Gardner, Ty House, Billy Latham, Tim O'Donnell,and Larry Ranallo. Services were held Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Antlers with David Mingus and Jr. Gardner officiating. Interment followed at Antlers Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers. The family ask the in lieu of flowers donations be sent to the Masonic Lodge or the United Methodist Church in Antlers.
