Adam Frye Obituary

Adam Michael Frye, cherished son of Alice and Jim Frye and beloved fiancé of Holly Mazur passed away at his home on Sunday, December 4. In addition to his parents and fiancé, he leaves three children: Abigail, Andrew, and Blakely, who he adored. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins and a host of friends, many of whom have been friends since middle school.

Adam was born at University Hospital on April 30, 1984, and always lived in the Augusta area. He graduated from Lakeside High School in 2002 where he played football and participated in many other sports. He graduated from Georgia Southern in 2006 and was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was currently employed by Concrete Coatings of the South.

Adam was a big teddy bear with a heart and personality as big as he was. He loved his children and often took them to the parks in the area and played cards and other games with them at home, he was just a big kid with his little ones. Adam met the love of his life, Holly, several years ago and they were fun together and fun to be around. They loved going to concerts as Adam had an eclectic taste in music, so they traveled to Atlanta, Columbia, Charlotte, and many other places and was constantly listening to these different groups. But his favorite was always Widespread Panic. Holly and Adam loved taking the kids to the beach, to the zoo, and many other places as well as playing on the swings and slides in their big backyard. Adam dearly loved his family and friends and his passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts.

He was a great dad and a wonderful son. He was always kind and respectful to his parents and always thanked them for everything they did for him. However, in the last few weeks he also became the caretaker for Holly. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and became ill quickly. He gave her medicines, tried constantly to get her to eat, took her to chemo and doctor's visits and as always tried to get her to laugh. She once told his mom that she could not stay mad at him because he would dance or sing or do something so funny, she forgot to be mad. His mom said he always did that to her when he was growing up and would not get in trouble because she was laughing too much. Adam and Holly began praying together every day and put their faith in God during this difficult time.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10th, at 11:00 am at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 with Pastor Mark Maund of Riverview Church as the officiant and Steven Rosborough (Roscoe) giving the eulogy. Adam was definitely one of a kind.
I meet Adam when we worked together at The Charles W Cheek
Insurance Agency. He definitely would put a smile on your face. I missed working with him and his goofy personality. He so loved his kids and was a wonderful father and a great friend. Even though we haven't worked together in years Adam was always there for me. Fly high Adam. I will miss you.
