Benjamin Segrest Obituary

Mr. Benjamin Clarence Segrest, 51, went home to Heaven on July 7, 2024.

He was born on January 5, 1973 in Jefferson County Georgia to the late Donald and Joyce Segrest. He was a 1991 graduate of Burke County High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, where he served with the youth in Upward Basketball and other activities.

Benji was working with the Burke County Board of Education; in the past he also worked as a mechanic and a cook at Huddle House in Waynesboro.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents: R.V. and Ruby Segrest, Robert and Sadie Bolton; Aunts and Uncles: Ralph and June Segrest, Robert Segrest, and Joyce Oyler.

He is survived by his brother, Donald "Eddy" Segrest, Jr (Stephanie Jackson) of Augusta, GA; his sister, Heather Bentley (Brian) of Augusta; nephews and niece: Brian Segrest (Jessi) of Vidette, GA; Karen Boylan (Pat) of Pendleton, SC; Brandon Bentley and Brady Bentley, Augusta; great-nephew/nieces: Sasha, Noah, and Winry Segrest, and Brantlee and Collins Boylan; Uncles: Madison Bolton (Lisa) of Thomson, GA, William "Bill" Segrest (Donna) of Waynesville, NC; Aunt: Kay Segrest, Shorter, AL, and many cousins. Also, lifelong close friends Charles Butler and Chris Mobley, of Gough.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, July 12 at Rose Dhu Cemetery in Vidette, GA. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, 853 N Liberty St, Waynesboro GA 30830 or Gough Baptist Church, 123 Cates St, Keysville GA 30816.
