Daniel Nixon Obituary

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Mr. Daniel E. "Dan" Nixon, Jr., 77, loving husband of 51 years to Deb Nixon.

After a long and successful career in commercial real estate, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Leasing at Whitestone REIT, Dan retired with a legacy of professionalism and integrity. A graduate of Marietta College in Ohio and a native of greater Cleveland, he made the Augusta area his home for the past 25 years. Dan believed in giving back to his community, volunteering with Augusta's Turn Back The Block. Beyond his work, he was an avid road bicyclist, loved time boating on Lake Erie with family, and could always be found with a loyal dog by his side. Known affectionately as "Double Down Dan," a nickname that followed him throughout life, he will be remembered for his energy, generosity, and enduring spirit. Dan was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose family remained the center of his life.

In addition to his beloved wife, Deb, Dan is survived by sons: Ryan (Lisa) and Matt (Simona); granddaughters: Morgan and Nika; sisters: Cheryl and Laurel and; canine companion: Bonkers. He was preceded in death by his parents: Olive and Daniel E. Nixon, Sr.

Services will be private.
