Danny E. "Dan" Whitman, 74, entered into rest on Monday, September 16, 2024, at his residence.

Dan was born in Winston- Salem, NC. He was known as Dan, Grand-Dan, Flip, and Danno. He was a store manager of Rose's for many years where he met his wife of 54 years. Dan was well known for being in the automotive industry in North Carolina and Augusta. He was a member of Quest Church, where he served as an usher for many years.

Dan loved and cherished his family. His favorite thing was family gatherings and spending time at the Beach House in Beaufort, SC. He was an avid fisherman and his family loved all the fish stories. Dan loved being with family at the Georgia Southern games and traveling to watch the Eagles play on Saturdays.

Dan is survived by his wife, Sandra Scott Whitman; a son, Todd Whitman (Alysson); a daughter, Christy Whitman Evans (Bryan); 6 grandchildren, Jacob Whitman (Christian), Brooke Evans James (Evan), Justin Whitman, Hanna Evans, John Monroe (Rochelle), and Brittnie Watson (Zack); 3 great-grandchildren, Lincoln Monroe, Miller Jones, and Andrew Watson; sister-in-law, Janice Richardson (Earl); brother-in-law, Rance Scott (Sherry); numerous nieces and nephews; and 3 cousins, Janet Andrews (Eddy), Carolyn Shore, and Dottie Rutledge (Jerry).

The family would like to thank the staff of MSA Hospice, especially Diane Smith, RN and Valentina Ross, CNA for their compassion and care.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Quest Church, 5001 Gateway Blvd, Grovetown, GA, with Reverend John Kenney and Forrest Page officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service until 8:00pm.
