John Arthur Obituary
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Andrew Emenike celebrant. The family will receive friends in the narthex from 10:15 until 11:00 AM.
Mr. Arthur was born in Augusta to the late John and Mary Ellen O'Connor Arthur. He worked as a facilities manager at Fort Gordon. Mr. Arthur loved his Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. He was an avid runner and participated in several marathons but would also enjoy a good old Snickers bar too. Mr. Arthur was most of all a family man and was affectionally known as "Bear" or "Papa Bear".
Mr. Arthur is survived by his children, Megan Mask (Trey), Kelsey Davis (Kyle) and Patrick Arthur (Emily); his grandchildren, William Mask, Oliver Mask, Madeline Mask and Virginia Davis; his former wife and friend, Bonnie Arthur; his niece, Melinda Dansby (Jamey); his nephew, Jeffrey Williams (Katy); his great-nieces and nephews, Lauren Henthorn, Brey Dansby, Archie Williams, and Rosalie Williams; his great-great nephews, Wells Henthorn and Andrew Henthorn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arthur is preceded in death by his sisters, Lynn Ward and Claire Williams.
If so desired, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

So sorry to hear about Pat passing away. We attended Tubman, had a few classes together. Never knew what he might would do or say, but he was a friend. RIP friend

I wish to express my condolences to every member of Pat's family.
We first met in grammar school at Sacred Heart School in the 60's but his daddy transferred elsewhere. We ran up together again as his and my son were both in Scout Troup 45 and Pat even helped on weekend campouts with 30+ boys.
We did not meet up again until 2010 when I started a construction management job at Ft. Gordon. Pat was the best in resolving any conflicts between the contractor and the director of public works. Worked together 15 years.
We both retired about the same time.
I've never met another man that could stand up and resolve any discrepancies between the contractor with one sentence.
Patrick Arthur, you were the best.
