Joseph Cozart Obituary

Augusta, GA – Joseph Edward Cozart, 59, entered into rest on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Family members include his faithful feline companion, Sally; sisters, Cindy Charron and Mona Gracy; nieces and nephews, Jason, Jimmie (Skip), Julia, Rachel, Kristin, Ron, and Ian; his devoted friend, Leonard Smith; and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Lois Cozart; and his brother, Jimmie Cozart Jr.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Phillip Winsett officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Manders, Ray Manders, Skip (Jimmie) Cozart III, Jason Charron, Lenard Smith, and Brian Mathewson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Martinez Baptist Church, 3632 Riverwatch Pkwy, Martinez, GA 30907.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Thomas Poteet &Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
