Joseph Powell Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Marie Powell, and four sisters.
Marion was a lifelong Augustan who grew up in the Harrisburg Community. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 150 where he was a lifetime member for over 72 years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn Mayo Powell, and his three children, Joseph Marion Powell, Jr. and Melody, Patricia Reddish and Glen, Jackie Churchville and Doug, and many grand and great grandchildren.
Marion's faith and devotion to his family was the passion of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his honor be made to Unsheltered International at P.O. Box 2625, Cullman, AL 35056 or at https://www.unsheltered.org/donate .
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Travis Sharpe officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Glen Reddish, Doug Churchville, Josh Reddish, Owen Powell, Joseph Byars, and Chris Reynolds. Honorary pallbearer will be Lewis Robertson.
