Margaret "Anne" Davis

1935 - 2024

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Annette Davis (Anne) of Grovetown, GA who entered into rest on March 12, 2024, after an extended illness. She passed away peacefully at the age of 88.

Anne was born on October 6, 1935, in Chester, South Carolina. She grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from Dreher High school.

She was well loved at Georgia Iron Works (GIW) where she worked for 30 years. She retired as the Executive Secretary to the VP of Engineering, and they lovingly always joked that you couldn't get to the boss without going through Anne.

Anne was a devoted daughter, a loving mother and grandmother, and a friend to many. She was a wonderful cook and baker, a highly skilled seamstress, an avid bowler and she loved her Friday night margarita at her favorite Mexican restaurant.

One of her favorite memories she shared was going to Myrtle Beach, SC hanging out at the beach, and dancing with her many friends. She absolutely loved to shag dance.

Margaret A. Davis is survived by her daughters, Denise D. Daniel (William Ellie) and Shannon L. Chitayat, granddaughters, Heather Daniel (Dan), Ashlyn Daniel and Ember O'Byran (Grady) and her little Yorkie dog, Gracie.

She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, P. O. "Buddy" Davis; her mother, Margaret Louise (Hamrick) Gladden, her stepfather, Thomas Roy Gladden and her father, Isaac Turner.

A visitation will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907 on Saturday, March 23, 2024. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association.
