She joined the United States Army Nurse Corp and was a Second Lieutenant stationed at Fort Sam Houston, and then Camp Gordon in Augusta where she met and married the late Thomas W. (Billy) Brittingham in 1951. Billy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Brittingham of Augusta, GA. Sally gave birth to five children, Patricia ""Patty"" L. Brittingham (Paul South) of Denver, Colorado; Thomas ""Tom"" W. Brittingham, Jr. (Dr. Kathy) of Augusta; Francis Xavier ""Frank"" Brittingham (Shannon) of Augusta; the late Cynthia Ann ""Cindy"" Brittingham of Augusta; and Lisa Marie Brittingham Chesla (Ret. Col. Dr. Edward ""RC"") of Augusta.

Sally is also survived by her grandchildren, Mary Francis Kraemer (Markus), Melissa Brittingham Meuter (Jason), Bridget Sharon O'Fallon, Patrick Timothy ""Packy"" O'Fallon (Kristy), Thomas W. ""Tommy"" Brittingham, III, Dr. Michael Andrew Britingham (Macie) and Samuel X. Sally had a lengthy nursing career working at St. Joseph's Hospital in OBGYN. She was on the faculty of the University Hospital School of Nursing, the faculty of Gracewood State School and Hospital, Director of Nursing at Meadow Garden Hospital, and retired as Director of Alcohol Drug and Rehabilitation at Georgia Regional Hospital.

She loved singing and tap dancing, through the age of 65, and was in a musical band of medical doctors and nurses called 'Code 99'. She loved reading, traveling, and being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her family is making it special to celebrate Sally's life and memory by having her funeral on the date of her beloved husband Billy's Birthday. ""Happy Birthday Dad! Here she comes, together again at last! We love you and miss you Eternity!""

I am so sorry for your loss. We were blessed to have such wonderful parents. I remember Mother being excited that your Mother and "Code 99" would be playing as she and Daddy got ready to go out. Both our Mother“s loved to dance! May they be dancing away in heaven now.
