Sherri Jones Obituary

Sherri Alleen Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on November 10th, 2024, at the age of 66. She was born on June 12th, 1958, to Forrest and Elva Stout in Independence, Missouri, and grew up surrounded by the love and support of her family.

Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Elva Stout (née Fraser), and daughter, Sherri McZilkey (née Contrillo). She leaves behind her cherished family, friends, and community, who will forever remember her for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to those she loved.

Throughout her life, Sherri was known for her unwavering faith and love of God, and her ability to make others feel seen and heard. She loved to travel with her husband, David, and spend time with her family. Sherri spent almost 20 years teaching in the CSRA, dedicated to giving her students the same love and support she gave her family. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her laughter and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sherri is survived by her husband, David Jones; son, Christopher Contrillo; daughter; Jordon (Garret) Benjamin; her brothers, Evan (Melody) Stout and Eric (Brenda) Stout; sister, Karrie Stout; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members. She is also mourned by the many friends whose lives she touched with her sincerity, wisdom, and unwavering support.

In honoring Sherri's memory, her family asks that donations be made to the giver's local ministries or Billy Graham Ministries in lieu of flowers.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of life visitation from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez GA 30907, to honor the legacy of a woman who left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Sherri's love, light, and laughter will continue to inspire and guide those who remain. She will forever be missed, but never forgotten.

So sorry to hear of Sherri's passing. We were close during our high school years. She was a very sweet and loving person and I'm proud that I was able to share a piece of life with her. May God bless the family with peace and comfort during this difficult time.
