Steven Jesse Restrepo

1987 - 2023

Steven Jesse Restrepo, 36, passed away on Sunday, July 9th, 2023, after a year-long battle with Moyamoya. He was born on February 11th, 1987.

Steven was a certified HVAC technician and level 1 electrician, with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and he knew the Bible inside and out. He became best friends with his wife in 2015, later marrying in 2020, and spending the last three years together. He had six children, which includes his daughters, Elizabeth Augustine, Abbigale Restrepo, and Susie Restrepo, and his sons, Scotty Echols, Brantlee Echols, and Damien Restrepo.

Steven's whole life was music - listening to and making music, singing, and playing his guitar. His favorite artist was Jelly Roll, who he got to see in concert less than two months before his passing. He also loved going to the water parks, lakes, Six Flags, and Hurricane Harbor. Steven's favorite holiday was Halloween, matching his favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. He absolutely loved his cats, Havoc and Yoda, as they were just his four-legged babies.

Steven leaves behind his wife, Melissa Restrepo, and his six kids, Elizabeth Augustine, Abbigale Restrepo, Susie Restrepo, Scotty Echols, Brantlee Echols, and Damien Restrepo. On his mother's side he leaves behind his mother, Jerri Augustine; his sister, Aimee Hatcher; and his brother, Michael Stringfellow; and on his father's side he leaves behind his father, Steve Byrd and wife Deborah Byrd, his brothers, Jason Davis and Dustin Byrd; sister, Shellie Whaley; and his in-laws, Sherry Griffith and Randy and Debi Tetts. He is preceded in death by his favorite person of all time, his Nana, Margaret Ivey; his grandfather, Jay Don Hatcher; uncle, Kenneth Hatcher (Bubba); and his father's parents, Nellie Byrd and George Byrd.
