Virginia Weigle Obituary
Virginia was a native of Augusta. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph School and was a lifetime member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. She and her husband served as lay ministers and served communion. She also would sew and do needlework on the altar cloths. Virginia was active in The Needlework Guild and Homemaker's Club. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Family members include her daughters: Sherril Weigle and Julie Welch (Charles); sons: John Edward Weigle (Edith), and Clarence Elliott Weigle (Deb); seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and other loving family members. In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Michael Anthony Weigle (Dawn) and her parents, John Daniel Garwood and Irene Elliott Garwood.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
