William Norvell Obituary

William "Bill" Paul Norvell, Jr, 73, of Evans, Georgia passed away on June 16. 2023. Bill was born on August 28, 1949 in Augusta to Dr. and Mrs. William Paul Norvell (Nadine). He grew up playing baseball, football, and church league softball.

Bill graduated from Georgia Military School in 1967 and while attending Augusta College he started working for Norvell Fixture Equipment & Company for a man, Marion Norvell, who could see the salesman he was destined to be and rose to become co-owner and President of the company. Bill loved his job and travelled frequently to visit job sites but really, he just had to see all of his customers and check in on everything. He cared deeply for those around him and we truly believed he never met a stranger.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, cruising the lake in his '79 Glastron boat, fishing, deep sea fishing, and hunting. He was the life of the party and took his hobbies very seriously. Bill loved to collect things and really got into coin collecting once he had grandchildren.

Bill leaves behind his long-time love, Linda Sconyers; former wife, Susan Norvell, with whom he shares 3 daughters; Dana Norvell Caudill (Darrell); Kristy Norvell Thorstad (Brian); Tracy Norvell Rose (Lee); and his grandchildren, William and Ben Caudill; Lucy, Bain and Annabelle Thorstad; Reese and Max Rose. He is also survived by his brother, Barry Norvell (Missy) and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters Connie Stewart and Cynthia Norvell.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill Church with Rev. Scott Hearn officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Parks Motlow, Aaron Horton, Don Brigdon, Creighton Laircey, Warren Mobley, and Don Williams. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Glazner.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Cancer Center, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Please sign the guestbook at www.thomaspoteet.com

Bill, Jr. grew up down the street from me, as I lived on Bluebird Road. He was always an active person. I swam in the Norvell's pool a number of times. Great fun!!!

Iam so Very Sorry for Your Family's Loss.
I met Mr. Bill when He came into my Place of work Southern Equipment Fabricators in Columbia SC to see if I Could build Him something that he needed. We sat talked Laughed and before we knew it an hour had flown by.
He was Kind, Caring, Generous with His Time an Enlightening Man.

It was sad to hear of Bills passing, I´ve known Bill for a long time through working with him on projects. We had our banter back and forth with each other when we spoke, I´ll definitely miss those times. It was a great pleasure to have been friends. Prayers for the family, we send our love and condolences.

It's been a long time, and before that we had known each other since 1966. Our friendship began at GMC. Bill and I shared other times as adults. He left us too early by our standards, but in perfect time by our Lord's schedule. Rest in Christ, old friend.
