Yun Fletcher Obituary
Yong Kun Fletcher, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2025 at the age of 84 in Grovetown, GA.
Yong was born in Kyunggi-do South Korea to Seung Kook Yun and Eon Nyeon Cho on September 9, 1941. Yong married William (Bill) C. Fletcher Jr. on October 18, 1965.
Yong was a shining example of a compassionate and Christ-like servant. Her faith was not just a belief but a way of life, evident in her tireless work serving her family, church, neighbors and friends. Food was her love language. Her food and servant attitude brought many people together. She delighted in preparing tasty Korean food to share with her family and friends! Yong loved to work in her garden, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. Her passion for gardening inspired her work in making flower arrangements for her church family and growing vegetables for friends and neighbors. She often reminded us of Ephesians 4:32: 'And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ'. Yong was very involved in her church, Korean First Assembly of God Church (3704 Belair Rd., Augusta, GA).
Yong was a loving wife to her husband, Bill, and a devoted mother who instilled a deep love for God in her children. Her legacy of grace, kindness, determination and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Yong is preceded in death by her youngest son, Brian Thomas Fletcher, and her parents, Seung Kook Yun and Eon Nyeon Cho, who will greet her in Heaven.
Yong is survived by her husband, William C. Fletcher Jr., her sons, Richard B. (Bruce) Fletcher and his spouse Lisa M. Fletcher, William C. Fletcher III (little Bill) and his spouse Kimberly I. Fletcher and James (Jimmy) L. Fletcher.
Her beautiful grandchildren include Richard Joey Fletcher and his spouse Jessica Fletcher, Kimberli Elyse Fletcher, Emily Nestelroad and her spouse Jackson Nestelroad and Brad Fletcher. Her great grandchildren include Isaak Fletcher (8), Noah Fletcher (7), Tommy Fletcher (3), Danny Fletcher (7 months) and Chloe Nestelroad (5 months). Yong's niece is Ke Sun Yun (Egyed) from Los Angeles CA.
Yong is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. In His light, we find comfort. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." ~ Matthew 11:28-30
