Arthur J. Martin, Sr, age 92, of Eldersburg, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Art was born in Scranton, PA and raised in the Borough of Throop. PA. He was the only child of John Martin, a coal miner and Genevieve Prehoda Martin, a housekeeper. He graduated from Throop High School, class of 1950 and was Senior Class President and Editor of the school newspaper, Purple and Gold Art was a veteran of the United State Navy Air Force. serving from 1952 to 1956. Art graduated from Springhill College, Mobile, Alabama in 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce completing his degree requirements in 2 years and 10 months. He received a Master's Degree in Governmental Administration from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Art was employed by the Social Security Administration and Health Care Financing Administration (Now CMS) for 30 years as a Management Analyst and Branch Chief, retiring in 1990. Also, for 30 years, Art was an Adjunct Faculty member at the Community College level at Baltimore City Community College, Baltimore County Community College, Dundalk Community College, and for eight years at Carroll County Community College. his areas of concentration were, Business, Management, Human Resource Management, and Labor Management Relations. Art is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Neathery-Martin, Son Michael W. Martin (Myla) of Eldersburg, MD, Son David E. Martin of Cape Cod, MA, Daughter-in-Law Rosemarie Tamburo Martin of Littlestown, PA, Daughter-in-Law Barbara L. Martin-Zieler (Stuart) of Eldersburg, MD, Daughter-in-Law Barbara A. Wehland Martin of Westminster, MD; Grandchildren: Jessica M. Waltersdorff (Matthew), Arthur John Martin, Ill (Christin), Stephanie Martin Eyler (Nate), Melissa Ann Martin (Kevin Hopkins), Michael P. Martin, Michelle L. Hicks (Jamie), Daniel P. Martin (Mary) Rachel L. Martin, Brian A. Martin (Sara) and Wesley R. Martin (Kelsea); Great Grandchildren: Jacob Arthur Waltersdorff, Colton T, Waltersdorff, Lucas M. Waltersdorff, Twins Bentley Arthur and Lennon E. Eyler, Palmer Marie Eyler, Harlow K. Eyler, Remi R. Eyler, Arthur John Martin, IV (AJ). Oakely A. Martin, Bridget G. Martin, Grayson M. Hopkins, Margo Joyce Hopkins, Ruby J. Hicks, Benjamin D. Martin, Adam M. Martin, Brinlee A. Martin and Kinsley A. Martin; Step Daughter, Arden Neathery Cooper (Kevin), Step Son Howard Lee Neathery, Jr.; Step Grandchildren, Megan S. Viator (Ryan), K.C. Cooper, Jr, Joseph A. Cooper, Nickolas L. Neathery, McKenna Neathery, Dawson Neathery and Step Great Grandchildren Penelope Ann Viator (Penny) and Marley Jo Viator Art was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy J. Mclelland Martin, Sons Arthur John Martin, Jr., Paul M. Martin, and Mark A. Martin, and Best-Friend George D. Bodden. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11AM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. A funeral mass will follow at 12 PM, Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment with military honors will follow at Lake View Memorial Park In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a
