Barbara Ann Herr Tucker Murphy, age 66, of Lothian, Maryland, passed away peacefully at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland on Thursday October 12, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.
Barbara (Barby) was born on October 21st, 1956 in Silver Springs, Maryland to the late Gertrude Augusta Herr (Trudy) and the late Harry Ivan Herr. Barby was the youngest of five children and the only girl!
Barby was a wonderful mother, sister, a doting grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who was always there for her family. She had many friends and was a well-loved neighbor in her community. She loved to travel, especially to the beach. Barby made the most delicious meals and sweets, and loved to crochet special keepsakes for her loved ones.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Donnie and Mike; her husband’s Albert Murphy (2003-2017) and Clarence Eugene Tucker (1980-2001). She is survived by her brothers Brent (Debra) and George (late Jean); Two children: Robert Owen Tucker and Richard Allan Tucker (Betty); Two step-children: Carrie Murphy and Claire Loretto; Nine grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She loved having a large extended family and felt blessed to have countless friends.
Barby had a positive and graceful outlook on living with cancer until God called her home. Her memorial service will be held at Beall Funeral Home (6512 NW Crain Hwy, Bowie, Maryland 20715) on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at 1-3pm. A private burial will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
