Daisy Johnson Obituary

Wisdom 7:22-32 or 15:1-6; Psalm 37:1-10

------------------------------------------------------------

"They that hope in Lord will renew their strength,

they will soar as with eagles and wings; they will run and

not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. Isaiah 40:31

Sometimes during the month of November 1936, Willie B. and Athlene Harris Shyne planted a bed of daisies and on July 23, 1937 up blossom a special Daisy who was their seventh daughter and twelfth child.

Daisy was proceeded in death by her parents, Willie B and Athlene Harris Shyne; her beloved husband Malciah H. Johnson, five brothers: William, Dave, Johnnie, O’Neal, and Bennie Shyne. Also, four sisters: Cora B. Shyne, Bernice Stanley, Pearl Clark, and Lula Thompson.

Daisy made Christ the center of her life at an early age and she live for Him the remainder of her life.

Daisy was educated in the Claiborne and Webster Parish Schools and further her education at Grambling College where she earned a B.S. degree in Home Economics. It was at Grambling College that Daisy met the love of her life, Malciah H. Johnson and they were united in holy matrimony on August 14, 1960. In 1961, they moved from Louisiana to Dayton, OH to establish themselves.

Daisy was employed by the Dayton Public Schools as a Home Economics teacher for 31 years.

On September 26, 2025, Daisy’s bloom ceased to blossom any longer; she was called to her heavenly home. She is survived by two sons, and one daughter-in-law: Terrence (Melanie) and Rodney Johnson. Sisters: Elva Manning and Frances Sims, and many nephews & nieces.

A life is like a song we write

In our own tone and key,

Each life we touch reflects a note

That forms the melody.

We choose to theme and chorus,

Of the song to bear our name,

And each will have a special sound,

No two can be the same.

So, when some we love departs,

In memory we find,

Their song plays on within the hearts

Of those they leave behind.
